About the Million Lives Collective
The MLC is a global, multi-sectoral network committed to identifying, validating, and scaling innovations that improve the lives of people living on less than $5.50 a day. Its three membership cohorts reflect different stages of impact:
Vanguard — Solutions that have directly impacted 1,000,000+ clients.
Voyager — Solutions on a pathway to impact 1,000,000+ clients within 18 months. (GCES's cohort.)
PSS — Solutions scaling transformative impact through the public sector.
Inspired by the International Development Innovation Alliance (IDIA) and implemented by Results for Development, Villgro Africa, E&K Consulting, and Insight Health Advisors, the MLC brings together some of the world's most respected development institutions to spotlight and accelerate high-impact innovations globally.

Greencare Eco Solutions Limited (GCES) is pleased to announce our selection as an official Voyager Member of the Million Lives Collective (MLC) — a global initiative celebrating innovators and entrepreneurs reaching new horizons of impact for people living on less than $5.50 a day. That last part matters deeply to us.
Built for the Farmers Who Need It Most
The smallholder farmers at the heart of everything GCES does are not an abstraction. They are the men and women across Zambia living on less than $5.50 a day, 70.7% of the population lives on less than $3 a day as of 2022, with 80% of the poor residing in rural areas where more than three out of four households struggle below the poverty line. (World Bank). At the extreme end, an estimated 64.3% of Zambians, about 12.9 million people, live on less than $2.15 a day. (Africanrelief), whose soil has been degraded by decades of synthetic input dependency, whose yields are increasingly threatened by climate variability, and whose livelihoods depend on getting more from every hectare. These are the people our organic fertilizers, extension services, and climate-smart tools are designed for not as a side effect of our business, but as the very reason it exists.
Since 2016, GCES has been transforming biodegradable waste into internationally certified organic fertilizers and growing media, putting affordable, high performance, nature based inputs into the hands of farmers who have long been underserved by conventional agricultural markets. Joining the Million Lives Collective as a Voyager Member is a defining moment for GCES. The MLC exists for exactly the kind of innovators we are, those building real solutions for people living on the margins, from the ground up. We are proud of what we have built and energised by what this network makes possible.

The Million Lives Collective is a global platform and the network of partners to do it at a scale that truly moves the needle.
As a Voyager Member, we aim to deepen the adoption of organic, circular agriculture across Zambia and Sub-Saharan Africa, connect with development partners who share our vision for inclusive food systems, and reach the one million lives milestone that this membership represents. Every farmer lifted out of soil degradation, every harvest improved, every tonne of waste converted into value that is the shared mission.
